Ask Your Own TV Question This is the only TV, and it is on the same cable line as the Comcast Internet which is working well. To do that, you’ll have to restart the TV box and the router, unplug the power cord from the back of your TV box and that of the router. OK, if other TVs in house working with same cable system then please connect a working TV at this cable point to make sure cable signal is available at this point and it will also help to focus on TV. So I think this is an issue with the box, perhaps the power it is outputting on its own. If your TV is showing No Signal, you might want to reset your Fios box manually. The larger Xfinity box is not recognized by either TV - except, as noted, when using the passthrough on the Xbox. I used the second, smaller Xfinity box on this TV and the other TV in the house, and both TVs recognized it. ![]() But it seems like it doesn't have enough juice to send a signal to the TV without the Xbox One passthrough. I'd like to plug the Xfinity box in directly so I can access the DVR, etc. So the Xfinity box is putting out a signal, but without the Xbox One my TV doesn't want to recognize it. When I plug the XFinity box into my Xbox One, I am able to use the cable guide / get a signal and watch TV through the Xbox One, on any of the HDMI ports, using any of the HDMI cables. The TV still will not recognize the box - it says "no signal" and tells me to power on the source device (i.e., the Xfinity box). And so, it won’t display cable channels on your unit. ![]() Otherwise, your TV won’t receive cable signals from your device. The reason: To run your Xfinity cable box on your TV, you must adjust your TV input source. As the code is entered, the remote light will blink on each digit. If you’re getting a black screen or No Signal message on your TV Then, your TV input source setting must be incorrect. Enter the first 5-digit code listed for the TV manufacturer. I have tried multiple HDMI ports, different HDMI cables (the one that came with the box, and other 4k cables), and have unplugged the HDMI and power cables (and hard rebooted / reset the TV) multiple times. Turn the TV on, and press and hold the ‘Xfinity’ and ‘Mute’ buttons on the remote together for 5 seconds (or until the remote light at the top changes from red to green). For some reason it does not recognize the signal from the Xfinity box when plugged in directly. I have a newer Samsung TV (UN65TU8000FXZA, 2020 Model). ![]()
